Swim Lessons & Instruction in the South Bay, Palos verdes, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Lomita.

Updated: July 1st, 2008
Hello and welcome to www.Swim310.com...your source for in-home swim lessons in the South Bay of southern California. Our lessons are filled with lots of encouragement, laughter, and high fives! The importance of lessons being FUN and something the swim pupil enjoys cannot be too strongly emphasized.
My name is Joseph Tillotson....I have been involved with aquatics for most of my life. From age 10 to 13 I completed 4 years of Junior Life Guard training.....in high school I played waterpolo...and I have been a Red Cross certified water safety instructor since 2005. During the school year I am the director of a tutoring association at www.southbaytutors.com. In addition to directing this association I do private math tutoring myself all year and tutored in the learning center at Marymount College from 2004 to 2007.
I created this web site with the purpose of matching up great swim instructors with people who want to better their own or their kids' swim skills.
I only network with those instructors who are great at what they do. This means that whoever you find on this site will have the experience, credentials, and (most importantly) a great knack for teaching others how to swim.
One of the reasons we formed this association is due to the conditions found at swim academies & swim clubs in the area. Lessons are often rushed, there are typcially 4 kids per instructor (unless you are willing to pay a huge amount for private lessons), the instructors are typically high school kids who get $9 per hour, you often must sign up for several lessons, and the pools are often overflowing with an excessive number of kids to maximize profits for the organization. With our network we have remedied each of these conditions, and provide instructors who are great at teaching others to swim in a more private and less expensive manner. As with any type of learning situation the quality and dedication of the instructor is paramount to the success of the pupil.
Whether you/your child is a non-swimmer who needs to learn the basics, or is a competitive swimmer looking to improve your form and speed, the swim instructors here are the best in the South Bay and have already proven themselves either by working at swim clubs or in private practice.
Additionally, each has (as a minimum) been trained by the American Red Cross in both water safety Instruction and in CPR for infants, children, and adults.
To the left you will find a detailed profile of myself and of the swim instructors I share this site with....what they focus on, their credentials, experience, etc. I will also be adding links in the near future to other swim related topics that may be of interest to you. You will see both the links and the number of swim instructors increase as summer approaches. For now feel free to call with any questions or to schedule an initial lesson with one of the instructors.
Swimming instruction is given at your home in the following South Bay cities from Palos Verdes to Manhattan Beach and all areas between...

- Rolling Hills
- Torrance
- Redondo Beach
